AKB48 Primer - Team 8 West
Team 8 was formed in 2014 with 47 members, each representing a different prefecture of Japan. Their team colour is dark blue. They are sponsored by Toyota and have the concept of "idols that come to meet you", holding concerts all over the country.
There are currently 32 Team 8 members. Many members also hold a concurrent position in one of the other teams.

Nagano Serika (SERIKA)
Born March 27th, 2001
20 years old
Joined in 2014.
Team 8 representative for Osaka Prefecture.
Also a member of Team 4.
Collects One Piece figurines.
Relieves her stress by eating.
Produced her own original character Makaro~n-chan complete with merchandise.
Was a model as a child, appearing in a Kayama Saki MV.

Very dedicated to improving her variety skills to the point of practicing them at home and writes down observations of people she sees on the train.
Loves Star Wars, rock climbing and basketball.

Will graduate from AKB48 in March 2022.
Hates tomatoes and once had a dream where they were chasing her
Her dream is worldwide peace.
Grew 10 cm in one year to reach her current 170 cm height.

Born November 29th, 2000
21 years old
Joined in 2014.
Team 8 representative for Ehime Prefecture.
Also a member of Team 4.
Plays the sanshin and the violin.
Fan of anime and manga, particularly ‘Kimi to Boku’.
Really wants to visit Iceland one day.
Eats mandarins every day because her home prefecture is the "Citrus Kingdom".

Tokunaga Remi (Remi)
Born October 1st, 2006
15 years old
Joined in 2019.
Team 8 representative for Tottori.
Hobbies are playing catch, and doing her hair and make-up.
Relieves her stress by sleeping.
Her strength is that she appreciates time, but her weakness is that she’s impatient.
Says the appeal of Tottori is the nature and that the water is delicious.

Shitao Miu (Miu)
Born April 3rd, 2001

Joined as part of Team 8 in 2014.
Team 8 representative for Yamaguchi prefecture.
Also a member of Team A.
Confident in her dancing and frog imitating skills.
Her mum and grandma sent in an audition application on her behalf as she wasn’t initially interested in being an idol.

Yoshida Karen (Karen)
Born August 27th, 2002
19 years old

Team 8 representative for Fukuoka Prefecture.

Considered by other members to be mature beyond her years.
Wants to be more well-known than HKT48 (who originate from the same prefecture).
Loves dancing and has been taking dance lessons since elementary school.

Favourite time of day is when she's sleeping.
Special skill is one-handed cartwheeling.
Wants to learn english and dye her hair pink one day.

Likes studying Japanese and English, and playing golf and basketball.

Born September 20th, 1997

Team 8 representative for Nara Prefecture.

Became centre for the song Private summer due to her popular daily Showroom streams which started at 5:30 am. She has now reached over 1200 consecutive days of streaming.

Gyoten Yurina (Yurina)
Born March 14th, 1999
22 years old
Joined in 2014.
Team 8 representative for Kagawa Prefecture.
Also a member of Team 4.
Wants to try doing everything in the entertainment industry, from being an idol to acting and voice acting to modeling.
Has a regional accent and while doing theatre work outside of AKB48 she found it very challenging to speak in standard dialect.
Likes cute clothing but doesn’t think it suits her.

Team 8 representative for Saga Prefecture.

Gives off the impression of being very serious and is strict with other members learning choreography, but actually messes around a lot.
Charm point is her interesting eyes.
Has been learning guitar and wants to learn drums.
